Mr. Tao Chen is CEO and Co-founder of Paragon Genomics, a venture-backed life science company focused on developing breakthrough targeted sequencing technologies and enabling worldwide access to precision medicine.

Before starting Paragon Genomics, Mr. Chen had over 15 years of technical and business experience in the life science industry, holding leadership positions from R&D, corporate development to product management with leading life science companies such as Life Technologies, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Pfizer. As a product management leader at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Tao successfully turned around a $100M molecular biology reagent business. When working as a Corporate Development Manager at Life Technologies, Mr. Chen had also played an important role in formulating corporate strategy, assessing acquisition targets such as Ion Torrent, and closing many business development deals.

Mr. Chen holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Peking University.
