Dr. Shanshan Xu currently is Vice President – External Innovations at BioNTech SE. She joined the company in 2020 as Vice President – Asia Pacific and China development.

Prior to BioNTech SE, she held analyst positions in various firms including Berenberg Capital Markets, Deutsche Bank Securities, and Cowen and Company, conducting research and analysis in binary clinical trials, biotechnology, medtech and pharma.

Shanshan holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UC Irvine and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
